After one year of intensive Japanese
study, I gained employment as a software engineer at NTT
Data - Japan's largest system's integration company.
Working on a team localizing an object-oriented Oracle-like
database system, I was given the enviable task of developing
end-user graphic software tools.
For more
context, I kept a summarized
diary of my salaryman-like experience whilst in Japan.
Specific Work:
- Successfully designed and developed (using C++) a PC-based,
visual database design tool (the
“VisualEditor”)
used by database schema architects to construct complex
object oriented database implementations.
- Wrote extensive QA
Partner testing suite code for several Unix-based motif
applications.
